as far as on press cleaning we use an Onpress cleaner called VW Inkwash from Northwest.
Off press cleaning, we use Mineral Spirits and VW inkwash... mineral spirits to get most of ink off and then VW to finish it off and almost "dry" the screen...
the only time we use Acetone is if there is something locked in the screen we use a high pressure blowout gun, and even that we don't like to use alot... or if there is ink in the wrong place on a garment...

Re: Acetone in silk screen printing
I would recommend a product called Bio-Solve. I am a distributor in Ontario, Canada. This product out performs Acetone as it is non-hazardous to the environment and safe to use. It lasts 10x longer and has 5x the cleaning power of Acetone as it has a lower evaporation rate and leaves no residue.
Simple to Apply to the screen, let it sit for a min, then wipe clean.
It is available in pails, drums, or totes.

Let me know if you are interested in trying a sample!
