I've never used it, but from what I understand, QTX is not the best emulsion.

I buy from Screenprinting Products in Benicia. (707)745-4465. I use Murakami TXR and like it, but they also handle Chromaline and probably others as well.

If you have not heard great things about QTX, what emulsion would you recommend?

Back when I had a print shop, I used Murakami emulsions. Aquasol HV is an incredible emulsion. You can coat it as thick as you want.

The best way to coat it is using the rounded edge of your squeegee, and giving it 2 coats on the bottom (t-shirt side) of the screen and 1 coat to the inside (or squeegee side) of the screen.

If you want to create a thicker stencil, simply do 3 (t-shirt side) and 2 (squeegee side), wait for it to dry and coat the bottom of the screen again with 1 or 2 coats. The emulsion will build up on itself. You can even do this a couple more times and achieve a stencil worthy of printing high density prints.
