What would be your printing price on shirts you supplied?

What would be your markup on the blanks if you supplied them?

Are you on the hook if you mess one up?

If so, charge accordingly.

Are these a high tech or risky synthetic fabric.

If so, charge accordingly.

Are there tricky logo placements involved?

Ditto.

He is offering a high end garment and you
should be delivering a high end print.

By taking more time to ensure the quality of
the finished product you should be paid more
than if you were pumping out camp t-shirt.

I wouldn't have any problem charging $2-2.75 a surface
on a high end garment for a black on light.

My policy on customer supplied items is to automatically double what I charge for imprinting on items I supply since I'm not making anything on the markup of the blanks- And the price can go up accordingly for unusual print locations, fabrics, etc...

I've only had one guy ever have a problem with that policy when he realized he was paying almost the same thing for bringing in his own stuff as it would be if he bought the shirts from me, but usually people have no problem with my prices.

I assume limited responsibility for the items themselves- Basically only if I misprint it

I don't assume any responsibility for damage due to exposure to heat or chemicals, or if the ink won't take because it's some kind of crazy synthetic. Also since I have no way of knowing how the garments may have been handled prior to them being brought in to my shop.

I've had quite a few people tell me that some of the other shops in my town won't even handle customer supplied items.

I always tell the customer up front if I don't feel comfortable printing their stuff for whatever reason

there is no reason you can't get at least a double on all the products you inventory.

ROADSIDE RULES
RULE #1 If you have to ask how much you should charge.... you probably shouldnt take the job.
RULE #2 If you have any doubt about the job DONT DO IT!
RULE #3 If you do take the job CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING UP FRONT! It's better to charge more up front and then cut the customer a break if the job goes smooth
RULE #4 In business to make MONEY, Not Friends. If you do good work and on time you will have lots of CUSTOMERS.
RULE #5 If the customer is going to sell the item to make a profit... YOU SHOULD TOO!
RULE #6 (learned from d_flemming) STICK TO YOUR GUNS! Customers are going to say and do anything they can to get a better price.

I must revert to RULE #6 when it comes to political jobs.

I ask a series of political questions and if they dont answer 75% correct I tell them they are not "Real AMERICANS" and to beat it!

What I found funny (NOT), was that is really didn't matter
whether they won or lost. Neither one would pay the invoice
without us bugging the hell outta them.

It's like the accounting unit would just vanish!!.

I lean more towards S.O.P.
