When making screens, what is the proper angle of screen cloth to the screen frame? I have heard 45*. What is the benefit of this? Does it print smoother? Why? I can see that you waste more cloth at 45* than by putting the screen on parallel / 90* to the frame - but if it is worth it we would do it.

I know that the half-tone angle, as well as the LPI, must be coordinated with the screen mesh to minimize Moire effect, but if we are already doing this - is there any benefit to putting the screen at 45*? i.e. if we find an acceptable minimized Moire combo of halftone angle and LPI and screen mesh at 90*to frame - is there any advantage to finding the same for 45* orientation of the cloth to the frame.

Also, If we do 45*, do we want even tension? or should be elongate the diamonds (from the 45* orientation of cloth to the frame) for some reason?

We plan to print very finely detailed images on glass.

With some high-viscosity inks, there will be pattern of mesh slightly visible.
I see no other reason for 45 degrees mesh.

I never use mesh on a 45 but then again I only print textiles and coroplast

You may want to ask the vendor selling you the ink and tell them what you are printing on i.e (Glass)
