hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had some tips and stuff that they do when they are getting ready to print a job. i have a 6 color 4 station HIX press and the whole set up.

Things i would like to know:
  • 1.) How high do you have the screen from the shirt when you pull it down to press the ink to the shirt.
2.) Which way do you prefer to press the ink down towards the screen or up twords you.
3.) How much ink do you put on the screen for each color.
4.) Do you just do one press and thats it or multiable swipes.
5.) what do you do for multiable color inks when the touch and when they dont.
6.) How long do you leave the shirt under the flash dryer before you print another color.
7.) whats the best way to align your shirts everytime so you know you are printing on the same spot on every shirt.
I believe thats it please add other tips if you have them! i would like to know!

Thanks,

Zach

1. About 1/8" from shirt to screen.
2. I push the ink away from me. It's better on your wrists.
3. About a half a pint to a pint's worth of ink.
4. I usually do two swipes. The second just to make sure all the ink went through.
5. If they're touching, flash between colors. If not, don't flash.
6. Depends on the flash dryer and the distance between it and the shirt... but usually the time it takes to print a color (about 8 seconds).
7. Usually have your platens set to where you load the edge of the shirt color right at the edge of the platen.

Hope that helps!
