Hey everyone,
I'm in the process of building my first exposure unit and I've been following plans very similar to these:

It's mostly gone as plan, except I cannot get the fluorescent bulbs to reliably light. They usually turn on extremely dim near the ends of the bulbs. I've done some searching online for a few days and the best I could come up with is that the ballasts and reflector are improperly grounded. So I went out and got a piece of galvanized sheet metal and I will connect that to the ground wire and use that as a reflector.
What is the best way to wire the ground to the sheet metal? Also, has anyone else had a similar problem before? Was it solved by grounding? Is there a way I can test to see if the unit is properly grounded?
Thanks in advance
