Non-Industry Adhesives?

I am printing T's and would like to use an adhesive on the platen. Can I use adhesives from the local store or do I have to have industry specific adhesive? Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

An adhesive made to be used with heat is best. Nazdar has it by the case in aerosol fairly cheap. There are pallet adhesives in liquid form as well.

I'm really looking for something I can buy at the local store...like Wally world or Home Depot.
