Having Problems With Plastisol Inks

So have been printing for a couple months now and have switched from using the Speedball inks to Union Plastisol. The problem that I am having is that when I print with a 110 screen the ink either doesnt come out of the screen or too much comes out depending on the design. Im using a rounded 65 squeegee I believe. Im printing on white 100% cotton shirts. I have tried the Plastisol on an 80 speedball screen and i came out good. Do I just need a different mesh?

Sounds like you need to get a stiffer, square squeegee. The consistancy of plasticol inks is thicker than speedball. You need to use "sharp" strokes with a fair amount of pressure when printing plasticol. I would try 70-80 durometer. Your squeegee should not fold when printing. You will need to buy from a screen printing supplier as opposed to an art store for a good squeegee.

Hope this helps!

use a square squeegee with good pressure.
