Hello All,
I am just getting into the art of screen printing, and I have a question that I cannot seem to find the answer to. How would you go about screen printing an object with a glow or fade or realisit smoke. Attached are some examples.
Thanks for the help!

Thats a bigger question then you might realize. There are many things that go into printing the type of designs your asking about.
Halftones are the key, along with high gauge mesh screens, proper tention and workable art. You may want to talk to some in printing in your area to get the facts you'll need. This is too big of a questions to answer here... for me anyway. Good luck.

It is a big subject but basically if you can print halftones then you can print these effects,
For simplicity you will need a RIP and a postscript printer on your system. The smaller the halftones you can print the more realistic it will look.

Halftone. We use Accurip to generate our halftones and print with a 200 mesh screen, sometimes a 160 mesh.

You are probably looking at 45lpi or so, it should give you a decent effect but you will see dots.
