Printing Screwdrivers

Post by d fleming »

I must be getting feeble-minded in my old age. Adjust the press, place screwdriver on deck, check flood bar and squeegee, step on switch, smash screwdiver through fabric, replace fabric from tear screwdriver put in screen. Finally finished run with second screen, think I'll sleep in.

Yikes -- I've had an employee who accidently punctured a screen. Luckily it was a clean cut that didn't instantly rip. I slapped some masking tape on both sides and the screen held up for the rest of the run. Didn't get to use that screen for anything else, though. When the masking tape came off it instantly ripped the whole length of the screen.

So you print on screwdrivers? Did you make yourself some kind of device to hold them in place? I'd be interested to see this.

No, actually I think that print run was coroplast. Was using the screwdriver to adjust the press and left it on platen when ready to print by accident. I recall it made for a long night.
