Film Postives

Post by ROADSIDE »

As we all know the debate of INK JET vs LASER is one for the ages.

I need some help here. We use and XANTE laser for our films. Xante is phasing out my printer so I am going to have to make some adjustments.

What does everyone recommend?
I need something MAC compatible that yields high end results.
At this point I dont care if its laser or inkjet.

PLEASE POST WHAT YOU USE
RATE the following on a scale of 1 to 10.
Reliability?
Edge Quality?
Darkness?
Price?
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.

I was the designer at my last job, and I used an Epson 7800 with Wasatch SoftRip. Once I got that printer with that rip, I never had registration issues, everything burned great, the halftones were great... before that I had a laser printer and a smaller Epson ink jet with Fast Rip, and I had problems with both of those.
