Conveyors

Post by Jeremy »

I've had my shop open for a few months now, definitely doing well and am looking to upgrade my conveyor. I'm curious as to what other people have and/or what they'd recommend.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of volume are you doing?
How many shirts in an 8 hour day?

I run an M&R Mini Sprint (gas) 16' conveyor end to end. 40" wide
We usually do no less then 100 shirts a day (double sided) and up to 1500 single sided
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.

I'm interested in an M&R conveyor and have heard a lot of good on their products. Does anyone have any complaints?

WE own an M&R conveyor dryer. IT works fine but has 2 major flaws. 1) If the power goes out the belts on these units will melt and be unusable, You will need to purchase a battery back up for the belt motor until the machine cools down. 2) When turning off the machine you need to wait about 15 minutes until you can turn off the belt....problem 1 solution would fix this but is somewhat costly. NOt sure why the manufacturer hasnt already done this...

We have 3 Hix electric dryers which work fine but I've often hear gas dryers are more consistant.

Thank you Pear Bear for the great advise on the belt. That probably saved me a headache in the future.
