hi,
my name is stipe and i come from Malta. My knowledge of printing is very limited but I,m very interested in it. I wish to make some A4 signs such as no parking etc. should i use polyester label sheet printed by a laser printer, or should i do it by screen printing.

I would say you need a vinyl cutter and some vinyl.
Thats how we make almost all of our signs.
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.

Vinyl Cutter

Post by Derrick Alan »

I have viewed many low cost vinyl cutters on ebay - from 24 inch all way up to 60 inch for under 1000.00

I have never had one and am looking for advice, are these good sales?

Has anyone purchased one, if so what was your experience?

Being new what size is the min and max would you sudjest for a newbie?

I have an Ioline 24 inch cutter we are looking to part with. We bought it less than 2 years ago for making signs and banners. It has been used very little and looks brand new. I even have the original box and stand. Asking $1,400 with Sign Lab cutting software included. Paid well over $2,00 for all brand new. I will include vinyl to get someone started. You can cut THERMO FILM with it as well. Ended up going digital. Bought a Roland 54 inch print/cut system. It was expensive, but the best solution for me. As for the cutters under $1000.00....you get what you pay for. The quality and service of those bargain machines is quite poor. In my opinion, only Ioline, Roland, and Summa were worth the money (in the price range I was researching). I have not had any issues with the Ioline or Roland products. There is certainly big profits in vinyl signage.
