Screen Printing vs Pad Printing

Post by sparta »

My company has recently started pad printing as an add-on to our existing product line.

My question to you is "Is it possible to pad print a logo and have it's resulting strength be as strong as a screen printed logo?"

We may be doing our ink mixtures incorrectly but I don't think so. When we print on glassware (be it stainless steel, ceramic, or glass), you cannot scratch it off using your nails but you can get it off if you use a sharp object like a metal ruler. Samples of screen printed items won't scratch off at all.

Is it maybe the type of ink (CG ink from Ink Cups)? Could it be a temerature issue of the items before printing? We're at a loss due to our limited experience. :(

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Greg
