SCREENPRINTING ON LEATHER JACKETS

Post by Brandon »

Does anyone have any experience with screen printing on leather? any tips for me? I'm about to screen print a band logo on the back of my leather jacket at my friends print shop and want to make sure I do this right. Another friend of mine printed on my old leather a couple years back and it turned out awesome. When I asked her about what the process was she told me we used plastisol ink and some kind of bonding agent(she didn't know what it was called, only that it came in a small bottle). I think the bonding agent might be a product called nylobond but i'm not 100% on that. I just got off the phone with a print supply retailer and he said they had a water based ink that is supposed to work on leather. I dont know if I trust that cuz its water based and I tend to be rough on my leathers so I need it to last forever! any help would be appreciated thanx.

You can get adhesion promoter (nylabond) from Nazdar.
