Changing CMYK to Spot Colors in Corel 12

Post by swieckow »

I have imported an image into Corel 12. I can print it as a four color process but I am unable to figure out how to change it to spot colors so I can make it a two color image. Can anyone help me change this from 4 color to spot colors.

I presume that the image is a bitmap?
Use the trace tools, which are under 'bitmap' in X4, but will be somewhere in 12, RTFM for details, may be called CorelTrace.
Once you have a traced image you can convert to spot colours, open a pantone pallette and choose colours from there.

hello tompaine .... you gave good information..... Are you using CMYK mode and enhanced viewing? Always use enhanced viewing Isometimes use enhanced view with over prints abd wire frame but enhanced is my default. Spot color display really only works well in enhanced view.... :D

Enhanced view only affects your display, it doesn't affect spot colours etc.
You can use CMYK or RGB.
