Advice on pricing

Post by prohab »

I have a bid opportunity for 10000 custom bags and I am a little unsure of how much I should mark-up the cost to remain competitive. Can anyone give me some pointers? I have never done an order of this size...
Would like to make 40%, but I am not sure if that would make me uncompetitive.
Is there a standard?

Are the bags made in China? and are you the supplier or distributor, and if your client is end user.
If you are distributor, and your client is end user, usually your can mark up 40% .

Thanks

40% for me is fairly reasonable. But I think you should make more research in that matter. Maybe put yourself in your client's position, and ask yourself how much are you willing to pay for that kind of service. That's a good start.
