White ink on reds, blues and black textiles.

I'm new to the industry and I am having problems with printing white ink on high pigment or darker colors. I'm using an M&R Gauntlet Auto. Should I one stroke an overprint of white on an underbase or two stroke it?

You should be able to get vivid whites with a single stroke underbase, and then a single stroke on top of it. Are you sure you're flashing the underbase long enough? The ink should be dry to the touch before the second layer goes on top of it. If you're still having problems, you might want to make sure you have the screen set up properly. You want a screen with bigger holes (ie: lower mesh count such as 110) for white ink so you can transfer more ink onto the garment. Also, it sometimes helps to coat the screen normally, let it dry, then coat the print side of the screen again to allow for a thicker stencil for the ink to transfer through.

Hoe that helps!
