Backing with white & softer feel?

Post by Limelight Apparel »

I have two questions but for similar reasons: I'm trying to achieve a less bulky ink feel on darks.

1) Does everyone back with white on darker t's and sweatshirts? If not, any general rules to follow on when/why to do this?

2) What needs to be done to get a finished product with a softer touch similar to what all of the retail lines put out? Are there different inks that will cover, yet not create the bulky ink feeling?

Thanks

Jamie

are you manually screening your shirts?

There are soooo many tricks.
I tend to use a 173 mesh and some curable reducer on my underbase white.
Depending on what colors are going on top will determine how much white to use.
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.
