Screen printing on a Carhartt jacket

Post by Scottfree13 »

Has anyone tried this and did it seem to work for you? If so do you have any suggestions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just use some "Nylo-Bond" or tri-bond catalyst additive. Carhartt puts a water-resistant coating on their jackets and the ink won't bond unless you use a bonding agent like one of these.
Also, for an even better bond, wash the jacket first. This will take off some of the water-resistant coating, though, so you should inform the customer that they should waterproof the coat again the next time they wash it (water proofer is available at most sports stores in different varieties - some is spray on, some is added to your washing machine).

Hope this helps!

That helps alot. I did notice that they seem to have some kind of a coating on them. I think I will give it try and see how it turns out. Thank you for the reply.
