rehydrating dried out ink

I took a break from screen printing, all set up to print and noticed my water based inks have dried up!
anyone have success rehydrating or should I scrap it and buy fresh?

I am assuming that you are using a water-based ink. There are two types of w/b inks. One is emulsion and the other is a solution type polymers. If the ink is an emulsion and you have dried up scum on the top layer you might not be able to hydrate the ink. Depending on the size of the leftovers you might be able to save it by skimming off the scum and adding it into a fresh batch of ink.
For water soluble polymers you may hydrate with a more water. Make sure the water free of hard minerals.
