Discharge - anybody have tips doing it?

Post by Anonymous »

I want to try printing discharge and wanted to see if anybody has done it with as small a dryer as I have.

My dryer is a tiny Workhorse IR conveyer dryer

Discharge Printing

Post by Calibrated »

You will only have moderate succes on your dryer, not due to its size but the fact that it is only a radient dryer without any forced air.

Generally speaking discharge works best with gas dryers or electric dryers that have a good forced air recirculation blower to evaporate the water as discharge is a water based product.

With some trial & error you may be able to produce a shirt, but you will never get it to work completly. Also note that it only works on certain 100% cotton garments.

Thanks for the dryer info.

Even if I did have forced air I can't slow the belt down enough for the product to be in the tunnel for the duration required by Union.
