Hi
I'm new to this forum, and also only been doing screen printing this year. My problem is getting my inkjet printer to go
dark enough to come out on the screen. My exposure unit is a polychrome 5000w plate maker I converted to do screen printing and the light unit is about 20'' from the glass. When I cut my designs on a vinyl cutter I have no problem burning
screens in 5-7 sec. I would be thankful for any help.
Thanks Don

what kind of printer are you using?

are you using film or vellum?

if you're using film- you might try stacking sheets together to achieve opacity

Just got a hp scaner printer with a darking setting, on old printer had tried running clear film in twice and also using 2 sheets but still the detail won't come out. I have tried on both 110 and 158 screens

Are you using halftones or gradients in your FILM output?

Vinyl is Opaque so of course its going to work, even if you over expose the screen. No lights getting through at all.

Post some pictures of your film or even the design you are having problems with.
Maybe they will spark some more info
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.
