Egyptian cotton - help!

Post by grrrdjules »

Hi there:

This is my first post - I am so glad I found this forum.

Up to now I have only printed on Gildan and Tiger Brand heavy-weight Ts using 110 mesh screens and plastisol ink. I got a rush job yesterday and the client has ordered 275 100% Egyptian cotton golf shirts. The material is very silky and has a striped texture. Do I need to use a different mesh? I'm afraid I'm going to ruin the shirts!

Help!

You should really try using higher meshed screens. They may be a little hard to "push" the ink through, but you get a smoother , thinner and more detailed print.

yeah that sucks.... you dont want to mess up those bad boys.
I would get 1 extra shirt and run some experiments... make sure you write down all the results so you dont have to do them again next year.
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.

What a nightmare. Those puppies scorch. So we've been an extra week now clearing that up. Never again.
