Emulsion coating

Hi all,
I'm a beginner in screen printing and am just about to start my first project. I have my designs and supplies all lined up and all I have left are a couple of questions about the emulsion:
-If I mess up the scoop coating process (which I am expecting to the first couple tries) can you wash out the wet emulsion (I'm using diazo) with plain water?
-Is it best to coat both sides of the screen or just the one? How does this affect the curing time/process?
-Does anyone have any experience with the Diazo drying/curing times? Do you generally use artificial or natural light to cure? Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your time! :D
