Pad Printing Question

Post by Shaselgrove »

Hi everyone, i recently purchased a manual pad printer to print onto abs plastic.
I have purchased all correct inks/thinners/retarder etc but when I attempt to print detailed images, the image transfered appears blotchy/smudged. I have tried various mixing ratios as recommended by ink supplier but still has the same effect.

Could it be something I'm perhaps doing wrong with the cliche ?

Many thanks in advance :)

It has nothing to do with the ink/thinner/retarder, it is either the depth of your plate or an old pad. Are you making your own plates or someone making them for you. ABS is one of the best materials to print on.

Yes abs material works great there should be a problem with plates!
