Low Cost Suitable Printers -Help

Hi I'm getting things together to re-start up a small business.
My only problem is what printer to buy.
Everything seems to point to a ridiculously expensive Epson coupled with
a ridiculously expensive Rip software. Are there any other alternatives.
I know i can use most any printer but what about Rip software halftones?
I would definitely appreciate your help .

You can try Ghostscript/Ghostview, it's a postscript interpreter/viewer that can print halftones.
