Newb help plz... burning

Post by bloodpound1012 »

My friend and I are trying to print on shirts.

We have a ranar flash dryer for water-base inks.
We keep burning our shirt while curing.

Can anyone tell me how high the flash dryer should be above shirt? and what setting for temp.

The temp settings go from 10 to 100

We have been trying to cure the paint right but when its cured right the shirt burns and when the shirt isnt burned it isnt cured fully.

Sorry for the ?s its just we are getting a big stressed out and keep wasting shirts -_-

You need some thermal strips. Start by placing the flash a good 2 or 3 inches off the platen. Using a strip on a shirt, see how long the flash takes to get to the desired cure temp. That is the time you need it underneath flash for at that height.

so how ever long it takes to reach the cure temp is how long I leave the shirt under the flash when it is at temp?

My flash dryer has temp settings what should it be set to? 100% being highest

I run my flash around 6-8 on a scale of 1-10. That way I have time to unload, reload, print without burning. Once you get everything set to your speed you should be good.

Can't help you there, I don't own a temp gun. My flash is just that, a spot to flash ink to semi cure for the next applications of color, then it's off to the conveyor for full cure and fold.

You aim the temp gun at the actual ink, not the shirt itself.
