Beginners (un)luck

Post by Smirre »

Hello all,

This is my first post here and I know it wont be my last

I have been working with screen printing about one year now and learning new things everyday. The thing I want help with now is this, a certain brand of t-shirt is giving me a
headache. When i´m printing, usually white on a black, i get a "fuzzy" print. I have attached a file. Im using a squared squeegee and apply alot of pressure the first stroke and then fill and last one im mainly just scrape the plastisol off. I have tried to push away from me and that didnt work so great either.

So now im relying on your help, pls.

Regards,

Smirre, Sweden

For this one im using a 90 mesh and curing it in a oven in about 152 C (305F) and flashing it first with a heatgun.

No, more like this, http://www.hixcorp.com/lib/thumb.php?fi ... height=216

And the print is to big to flash with a heat gun. If the mesh is to low i have a problem...this is the highest we got, usually we print with a 43 mesh.

Sweden, that explains the funky mesh count #.
Here in the US our mesh counts are listed differently. For white being flashed I usually run a 125 mesh, for underbase, a 230. Looks like you're getting too much ink on shirt.

Is that why the fibers are coming through the ink?

Most likely the fibers are coming up because there is no way your screen is lifting free and clear with no resistance due to the massive layer of ink you are putting down at once.
