Curing Ink

Post by OVSigns »

I'm new to screen printing. I'm looking at getting a 4 color single station unit just to start out. I was wondering if I use a heat gun to cure the ink in between colors, can I use a heat press to do a final cure? I plan on getting a flash dry later.

Yep, that'll work, to a point........but it'll be SLOW. Truth is, you probably won't get a 100% cured print, but you should get something close if you take the time. Raise the off contact of your heat press, if you can, so that when you put it down it's just above the t-shirt. Crank that up to around 400F and wait 1 minute to 3 minutes, depending on your print. Test for cracking, reheat if necessary. Watch for scorching! Upgrade as soon as possible

Hope that helps!
