help with ink and prints!!very newb!

Post by printingwizard »

I recently just bought a kit for screen printing.
I made it through the emulsion and exposing steps
I then ran a test, came out ok(little extra ink on the lettering when pulled screen off shirt)
I figured the rest will come out better.
But now this turned out to not happen.
Not sure if im not putting enough pressure or too much when pulling the ink,but
the prints are coming out very light like there is not a good layer of paint left on the shirt?
Also how many times should i go over the image too? Maybe I was going to many pulls?

I then tried a different color ink and this time the ink bleed through the exposed image area, not leaving sharp lettering behind.

ANY HELP WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED!

I would expect a printingwizard to have better results. :D
I would imagine that the lightening of your image is from the ink drying in your screen (if you are using WB inks).
Make sure you flood the screen right after printing with the screen off of your shirt.

The bleeding maybe be from ink be deposited on the back of your screen, too much water in your screen, not enough "off-contact".
