screen issues

Post by josie »

when printing on mesh screens with a value of 62 T the image is slightly grainy. I have flooded the screen and Im sure my printing technique is correct however graphic quality is poor? any basics I should cover to assist in keeping image quality good? and reduce grainy texture?

To help with image quality try increasing you EOM or (emulsion over mesh) if using direct emulsion try wet on wet coating 2 print side 4 squeegee side. If using cap. film try a thicker film. To get rid of the grainy look try letting ink flow out or thinning. But changing the EOM will probably help the grainy ink lay down also you can try 2 wet passes.

That's quite a coarse mesh, try a finer one 90/120T?

That is a very low mesh count. I would probably try to move to a 110 or 156 unless you are using a special ink that requires a low mesh screen. Hope this helps.
