Storage

Post by martinNZ09 »

So I have been printing for awhile now and have a range of screens/inks/cleaners etc...I work out of my garage and it gets pretty damn hot in there over the summer so I was wondering what people suggest in regards to storage.

Does the heat matter?
Should I try to store the materials somewhere cool?

Yes, keep your supplies cool. Especially any photographic supplies like emulsion. Heat and light are it's enemy. There should be storage info on all product labels for your convenience. I have an air unit in the screen area to keep temperature and humidity at a constant year round. Makes life much easier.

Thanks

Should I also keep screens, those that have been exposed and I am using in a cool area?

Thanks

Not necessary, once exposed and washed out it is no longer a viable photographic product but rather hardened emulsion stencil. I would suggest a small air unit in the wall for the garage to keep YOU cool while printing. Talk to the fat guy in the sleigh, quick.
