White ink doesn't come out even!

Post by BURNTJava »

Hi, I've had troubles getting my white ink to come out evenly on t-shirts. I've tried Speedball and Permaset, but they both give the same results. I came up with a two reasons why it might not be coming out clearly.
1. Squeegee may be too hard
2. Ink may be too think
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this because I need to be able to print white onto dark colors.

edit: I'm sort of scared to use plastisol because I'm not too sure how it works, but if someone can tell me the difference between using plastisol and water-based inks, then I'll try it. I've heard plastisol needs to be heated to really high temperatures to get it to set and can not be ironed because it'll melt. Help me please!

Well since this is just a hobby for me and I'm VERY new to it, can anyone explain to me what is meant by "flashing"?

What exactly do you mean by heating? And does this apply for water-based, plastisol or both? Sorry for asking so may questions.

Wow thanks for the video, that seems pretty cool. I've started to get my whites to be more opaque. I now have a 1/16th of an inch off space and I quick dry it once after the first layer then do a second layer. It's now coming out pretty opaque. Thanks for the help!

I think its cool people are starting to post tutorial videos.
Also makes me think how lucky I am to not have to MANUALLY PRINT!
That SUCKS!
Not saying the quality is bad but I am just not down with all the labor.

I dont ever pre heat my shirts on the auto. thats just wasting money.
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.
