Are these hats screenprinted?

Post by greasymark »

apologies if this question is in the wrong area or if this isnt even screenprinting, as you'll guess allready i have little knowledge on the subject, i run a small fashion label and am hoping to add some hats to my collection, i've got some great designs lined up and i think i want the hats screenprinted, ive come across some other hats that i wont be copying but i want a similar style or printing, image links below, the hats are 100% polyester, the inks used are quite raised to the touch about 1mm id say, they are quite shiny and seem to repel water. due to the fact several colours seem to have been layed down in the same layer, i suspect it may be some sort of heat transfer?

any ideas how the hats have been made, what i need to ask of a screenprinter when asking for quotes, would this be possible for me to achieve myself ie with affordable equiptment and with cost effective training and time, otherwise do you know where i could get these hats made with reletavely small runs at a good price? any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

more then likely the are discharge printed flat and then sew together that way.
Its very hard to decorate a hat already put together (unless its a simple emb. logo or print)
.... I can give you my opinion but I can't tell you if it's right or not.
