small text not washing out all of the way on the screen

Post by RamboGraphix »

We have a design they has small text and we are using 305 yellow screens. The emulsion seems to be flapping when we spray it and we cannot get the text to wash out completely. What is our problem?

is this for screen printing (textile?)

305 is a pretty fine mesh, i have been getting fine fine text to come out between 150-200 mesh.

my emulsion use to do the same exact thing, and sometimes the design would take forever to wash out, but placing a couple pieces of black construction paper between the inside of the screen (ink side) and the foam solved it. also, make sure your stencil is perfectly opaque.

yeah, haha... I can't believe I almost went through two gallons of emulsion and something as simple as that solved it. live and learn!
